About Us
The Common People
My name is Taylor Brewer and I am the owner of The Common People Store. Over the years I have tried many different versions of "art" as a way to be creative and grow. I have dabbled in wood burning, calligraphy, watercolor, felt art, hand embroidery and paper-mâché figurines. While by trade, I am a Lactation Specialist and Maternity Nurse, a piece of me has always wanted to spend my time creating. The name Common People comes from a story written about the history of folk art (a style of art I have always gravitated towards). In the story, folk art was described as "art made by the common people." As someone with no formal art training, I am beyond delighted to be creating art as a "common person."
